Sentinel staff report– An RV was destroyed in a fire on Thursday afternoon, causing additional damage to two neighboring homes.
Metro Fire said in a tweet Thursday that the fire started in an RV parked next to a home, with flames extending to the home. Minor damage was also reported at a next door neighbor’s home.
As of Thursday afternoon, Metro Fire said the incident was under investigation. A request for an update on Friday regarding the cause of fire was referred to law enforcement by Metro Fire, but an email response from a police lieutenant directed requests back to Metro Fire due to arson investigators being employed by the fire department rather than by police.
Charred remains of the RV were shared by Metro Fire on Twitter, showing little left of the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the blaze. The address of the fire was not included in updates posted by fire officials.
Earlier this year, a fire at a mobile home park at Antelope Road and Auburn Boulevard destroyed a mobile home on March 25. The cause of that fire appeared to be electrical, according to a report by The Sentinel at the time.
