The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday released sketches of an unidentified man whose skeletonized remains were found last year along the border of Citrus Heights and Roseville.
In a statement posted on the county’s website, the coroner’s office said the remains had been found on Jan. 9, 2021, “in a homeless encampment located down the embankment near the eastbound Highway 80 approximately 20 yards west of the Riverside Ave/Auburn Blvd exit.”
Following examination by a forensic anthropologist, the man was determined to have been a white male, between 40-65 years old, and approximately 5-foot-9-inches to six-foot-four-inches tall. The coroner said he likely died four months to one year prior to the remains being discovered.
The cause of death is undetermined.

In January 2020, police investigated another death near the Riverside Avenue exit involving a man found hanging from a tree. Police determined that incident to be suicide.
