Sentinel staff report–
A popular Natomas-based seafood restaurant is expanding with a second location in Citrus Heights, with renovations underway at the former Chando’s Tacos restaurant at Sylvan Corners.
Partially peeled off signage and covered-up windows are all that’s visible at the site currently, at 7084 Auburn Blvd., but photos posted by Oyster Bar on social media confirm that the restaurant is renovating the site.
Oyster Bar’s current location is open at 4261 Truxel Rd., with co-owner Duy Pan previously telling The Sacramento Business Journal that he and business partner Kenny Phan planned to open their second restaurant in Citrus Heights due to its central location between Sacramento and Roseville.
Oyster Bar first opened in Natomas last year, and features menu items like weekly rotating oysters, lobster chowder, and a popular cioppino stew with fish, clam, mussels, shrimp and Dungeness crab. The restaurant has earned a 4.1-out-of-5-star rating out of 258 reviews on Yelp.
According to the Business Journal, the new Oyster Bar location in Citrus Heights is expected to open in early 2024. Photos on the business’ Facebook page showed interior remodeling underway last month, with a message stating: “Coming soon.”
