Neighbors living near Oakwood Hills Circle on the outskirts of Citrus Heights say police responded to the area on Dec. 15 to investigate a death at a residence, but questions remain as to the outcome.
In a Jan. 4 email response to a Sentinel inquiry about the incident, Police Lt. Wesley Herman confirmed that officers responded to a call about a suspicious death, but he said authorities have not completed their investigation. The deceased person was an adult woman, he said.
“Homicide has not been ruled out yet, but is not the current focus of the investigation,” Herman said.
A resident with knowledge about the incident told The Sentinel that police vehicles arrived on Oakwood Hills Circle around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 15, followed by Metro Fire and more police vehicles. A police log entry for 9:17 a.m. that day shows officers responded to the location along with Metro Fire, with the disposition listed as “Report Taken – Informational.”
Oakwood Hills Circle is located near the northeastern city limits of Citrus Heights, off Old Auburn Road.
