The Citrus Heights Police Department announced the arrest of 31-year-old Brian Keating on Wednesday, March 20, following the investigation into three robberies which took place mid-morning on the same day. Keating was armed with a “replica firearm” according to the police department’s Facebook page and was booked into the Sacramento County jail on three felony charges of robbery, as well as violation of supervised release from a prior offense.
Local residents alleged that three separate businesses located in Citrus Heights, including Little Ceasar’s on Sunrise and Madison, were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning, according to multiple accounts from local Facebook groups. Although not identifying the restaurants, police confirmed in a March 20 press release that two fast food restaurants and a convenience store were robbed between 8 a.m. and 11:20 a.m that morning. The reported loss from all three businesses was $700 in cash, police said.
“Each of the separate business employees and witnesses provided a similar suspect description, alerting police that this suspect was desperate for cash and willing to put himself and the entire community at risk,” police said in Wednesday’s new release, adding that they were able to locate and arrest the suspect using “various technologies.”
Keating was located behind a business in the area of Sunrise Boulevard and Cirby Way in Roseville and subsequently arrested at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Evidence from all three robberies was located, along with his vehicle and the replica firearm, police said.
Anyone with further information about any of these crimes is encouraged to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department Crime Tip Line at 916-727-5524.
