So many of our streets fail to have the lanes defined by either striping or the “bumps.” Many streets are borderline third world quality in Citrus Heights and surrounding communities. Not only are the better paved streets unmarked, but it appears that as soon as a repaving occurs, somebody with a jack hammer and shovel appears to dig that spot up, undoing the decent pavement.
This last winter, driving at dusk or in the rain left motorists to guess where the lane was to drive in. I bounce around in my vehicle on so many streets that the automotive repair industry must be making a killing by selling new struts and front end shock absorbers. Maybe enforcing those who dig up the streets to repair their holes by insisting on compatible quality to the existing pavement would help. We deserve repaved streets for safety and our taxes should be used more for that.
