An annual community dinner which has already sold out, will look a little different this year.

The Residents’ Empowerment Association of Citrus Heights has been hosting a community dinner for the last 10 years, with a break occurring during the pandemic, according to REACH representative and chair of the event, Kallie Orr. In the past, the dinner has been a potluck. This year, the dinner is provided by REACH at no charge to residents, but it will not be a potluck.

“Several community members were unsure about potluck practices, so this change was made to encourage more participation,” Orr said, adding that a larger event also allows for incorporating local businesses into the event.

The meal is free, but registration has already closed, and all 200 seats have been filled, Orr said.

The event will feature a performance from the Mesa Verde combo band, who also performed last year. In addition, there will be games, door prizes, and a raffle, Orr said.

The dinner will be held Monday, March 10, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and will also include presentations from local community members. The event will take place at the Citrus Heights Event Center, at 6300 Fountain Square Drive.
