The city on Thursday announced the winners for this year’s Best Lights in Citrus Heights contest on social media, with a slideshow of the winning home in each category.
This year, two homes on Karen Rae Court won in two different categories; Santa’s Favorite, which honors the house or display with the most outstanding overall appearance and decoration. and Snow Globe, which highlights the biggest and brightest inflatable display.
A home on Peoria Drive with a large Christmas tree decorated with blue lights won in the Griswold category, which recognizes the brightest and most impactful display of shining lights, and Creekcrest Circle won the Holiday Village category, which celebrates the best-decorated block or neighborhood. 6344 Creekcrest Circle specifically was awarded top honors in the “Sleigh the Theme” category, which celebrates the display that tells the best cohesive story or presents a clear theme.
The 2025 categories list included annual favorites and several returning categories from 2024. Winter Wonderland, which recognizes the chilliest display of icicles, white lights, and wintry themes was included originally, but no nominations were received for the category this year.
