A longstanding smog check and DMV registration service in Citrus Heights has been listed for sale.

The STAR-certified Smog Check station has an asking price of $79,000, according to commercial real estate site BizBuySell. The operation itself has served the Citrus Heights community for over 20 years.

Located at 6234 Greenback Ln., Suite B, the business provides smog testing for all vehicle types, including cars, trucks, and motorhomes. In addition to smog inspections, the station offers a range of DMV services, such as annual registration renewals, title transfers, and VIN verification, creating multiple revenue streams and repeat customer visits, the listing says.

The facility includes more than 1,000 square feet of workspace, with a dedicated smog testing area and a customer office used for waiting and DMV registration services.

All major smog-related equipment is currently leased for $840 per month, allowing a new owner to avoid the high upfront costs associated with purchasing specialized testing equipment. The business is described as easy to operate with steady walk-in traffic.

The seller has indicated they will assist the new owner in obtaining DMV registration service authorization. According to the listing, the reason for selling is the owner’s involvement in multiple other businesses.

The smog shop exists in a small strip mall which includes Minuteman Press, a liquor store, a car radio store, and a low cost ignition interlock safety equipment supply store, with a pizza place and a tire shop nearby.
