A motorcyclist died Monday morning following a collision involving one motorcycle and one vehicle on Van Maren Lane.
Citrus Heights Police responded to multiple 911 callers just after 11:30 a.m., who reported a collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle. On scene, officers found the motorcyclist unresponsive.
Medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the car stayed and cooperated with officers. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, investigators say.
Southbound Van Maren was closed for several hours.
The identity of the deceased motorcycle rider is being withheld until the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office notifies the next of kin.
Witnesses to the collision are urged to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department at (916) 727-5500.
The Citrus Heights Police Department reminds all drivers to stay attentive to the roadway and other motorists.
