A large section of chain link fencing was missing Wednesday morning from a local elementary school after a vehicle hit the school’s fence late Tuesday night.
Grand Oaks Elementary families woke up to a section of fencing missing, with caution tape stretched between the fencing, following a solo vehicle collision that occurred just after 9 p.m. Tuesday evening.
The driver was not injured and was able to exit the car. Police arrived to find the vehicle had hit the fencing of the elementary school at the three-way intersection of Rosswood Drive and Grand Oaks Boulevard.
Summer Smith, 33, was arrested for DUI with three times the legal limit of alcohol showing, after a blood test, police said Wednesday.
The fence is currently being repaired.
