Citrus Heights council members will meet virtually Thursday night to hold a public hearing on redistricting, as well as officially declare the month of February as Black History Month and consider awarding a new contract for street striping and maintenance.
The City Council’s Feb. 10 meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on Youtube and via Zoom. A summary of what’s included in the meeting’s 31-page agenda packet is included below:
PRESENTATIONS
- Introduction of City Manager Ashley Feeney
- Proclamation recognizing the month of February as Black History Month
- Recognition of Republic Services annual Recycle Poster Contest winners
Quarterly Treasurer’s Report. The council will consider routine acceptance and filing of a quarterly treasurer’s report for the period ending Dec. 31, 2021. The five-page report summarizes the city’s various investment accounts and shows the market value of the city’s cash and investments at $30.9 million, down from $31.9 million at the end of the prior quarter.
Street Striping Contract. The City Council will consider a staff recommendation to approve a street striping maintenance contract with Sierra Traffic Markings, Inc., for $75,000 per year. A staff report says the city’s prior 7-year contract with Centerline Striping, Inc., was terminated due to “concerns regarding timeliness of work” and alleged failure to comply with requirements of the contract.
Public Hearing. The City Council will hold the first of at least four public hearings on the topic of redistricting, as the city works to receive public input in redrawing council district boundaries in light of 2020 Census data. The first hearing will include a presentation from the city’s demographic consulting firm, National Demographics Corporation, followed by input from the public.
