Citrus Heights police have released an image of a car involved in a Sept. 25 homicide.

Sentinel staff report–
Citrus Heights police are continuing their effort to solve a homicide case from September of last year, announcing this week that up to $1,000 is being offered as a cash reward for tips on the case.

In a social media post on Wednesday, police included a photo of the victim’s car, a green Honda Accord, and requested “anyone who had contact with this vehicle prior to the shooting or anyone with additional information related to the shooting,” to call the department’s crime tip line at (916) 727-5524.

In new information not previously released about the case, police said occupants of the vehicle were two Hispanic male adults and one Hispanic female adult.

As previously reported, Citrus Heights Police Lt. Jason Baldwin told The Sentinel police received multiple calls from the location at about 9:30 p.m. on September 25. Officers responded to the scene and located evidence of a shooting.

During the investigation, Baldwin said police saw a vehicle matching witness descriptions leave the area traveling Northbound along Fair Oaks Boulevard. Officers stopped the vehicle at Fair Oaks Boulevard and Oak Avenue where they found one victim with gunshot wounds inside the vehicle.

Officers attempted life saving measures, but the victim died. The first crime scene was at the Montage Apartments where the shooting took place, and the second crime scene was at Fair Oaks Boulevard and Oak Avenue where the victim died.

A separate shooting also occurred at the Montage Apartments last February, where a man was struck with a gunshot wound to the leg in what police believed was likely a drug robbery.

Tipsters seeking a cash reward of up to $1000 are invited to call the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-4357, or visit www.SacValleyCrimeStoppers.com.
