Drugs found in parcel mailed from Citrus Heights to remote island state
The Guam Daily Post reported Saturday that new documents unsealed in federal court show a parcel sent from Citrus Heights to the island of Guam was found to have contained four grams of marijuana. The news outlet also reported that another parcel had been found with 936 grams of methamphetamine, shipped from Vacaville. No charges have been filed in either case. (See story)

Kids eat free on the Fourth at Applebee’s
Fox40 reported Thursday that Applebee’s restaurants in the region, including Citrus Heights, will be offering a kids-eat-free special on the Fourth of July. An adult must accompany children, with up to two children eating free per adult. (See Fox40 story)

Obituary: Frances Jane Begley Reilly (1947-2022)
Frances Reilly passed away on June 15 at the age of 74, after a battle with dementia for 12 years, according to an obituary published this weekend in The Sacramento Bee. Her schooling included graduating from Loretto High School in Sacramento in 1965 and attending National University for her bachelor’s degree. Her obituary describes her as “always willing to adopt a cat or dog in need,” and said she enjoyed playing Scrabble and Monopoly with her children. She was preceded in death by her sister and is survived by her son, daughter and other family members. (See full obituary)
