A new family-owned shipping and mailbox rental store is preparing to open its doors in Citrus Heights, offering residents a range of shipping, mailbox, printing and business services.
Ship It 916 will be located at 7777 Sunrise Blvd., suite 3300, in the Walgreens shopping plaza, in a building that once housed a chiropractor’s office. New store owner, Abby Hernandez, said she signed a lease in September and has since been renovating the interior.
“We’ve opened up the inside a lot,” Hernandez said, describing a more spacious layout designed to accommodate retail counters, mailbox units and service areas.
Ship It 916 will offer multiple services in one space including shipping through USPS, UPS and FedEx, Hernandez said. Customers will also be able to rent private mailboxes that can be used as a home or business address. Additional services will include copying, printing, with plans to add notary services in the future, Hernandez said.
The store also plans to offer international shipping. Currently, Hernandez said the company has been authorized to ship to the Philippines, and she plans to expand shipping capabilities to other countries.
The business marks a new chapter for Hernandez, who has spent 22 years working in the dental field. She still plans to maintain her dental license while launching this new business.
“This is a brand-new venture for me,” she said. “I wanted to find something new and build something of our own.”
The store will be family-owned and operated, with her husband helping run the business. The couple moved from the Bay Area and settled in Roseville 13 years ago before purchasing a home in Citrus Heights in 2019. Hernandez said having friends and family in the area made opening a business locally a natural choice.
The owner has also been mentored by Lisa Sutton, a business entrepreneur who owns three shipping stores and multiple other businesses. Sutton is known for her “Mailbox Money Course,” which helps entrepreneurs launch mailbox and shipping businesses.
The shipping store has not yet announced an official grand opening date but expects to open within the next two to four weeks, Hernandez said. A website for the store with more information on hours and shipping details, is currently up and running.
Ship It 916 is located at 7777 Sunrise Blvd. #3300, at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Antelope Road in the same building as Mountain Mike’s pizza across from Walgreens.
