A new Mongolian barbeque restaurant along with a bakery are both currently under construction in suites adjacent to Starbucks on Sunrise Boulevard, with at least one planning to open this month.
A visit this week found both new businesses actively under construction, with O Tasty Mongolian Barbecue saying it anticipates opening sometime in March.
The restaurant occupies a 3,200-square-foot space, with BAD Bakers also filling a smaller 1,100-square-foot space adjacent to the existing Starbucks.
Signage for the restaurant has already been affixed to the building facade, and currently two murals are on the walls of the interior.
The operator previously ran a Mongolian barbeque restaurant at Westfield Galleria in Roseville but will operate here in Citrus Heights under a different name, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. The previous restaurant closed at Westfield Galleria in the spring of 2024, per the Sacramento Bee.
BAD Bakers is also under construction, with workers present on Thursday saying they were currently working on flooring for the space. The bakery chain has a banner displaying its name on the front windows.
The strip building at 7056 Sunrise Blvd., which is currently home to a drive-thru Starbucks location, has acquired three new tenants in the last year, including Gateway Nails and Spa along with the bakery and Mongolian barbecue.
The shopping center anchored by FoodMaxx and Planet Fitness has seen multiple tenants come and go over the years. Along with the addition of Gateway Nails and Spa, United Martial Arts Academy filled a long-vacant building once home to Hollywood Video.
Copperwood Square is anchored by FoodMaxx, Dollar Tree, and Planet Fitness.
The new restaurant is located at 7056 Sunrise Blvd.
