A popular bakery known for its unique creations of cookies, cupcakes, and cakes, and different vegan options, has relocated to a suite in Fair Oaks, just over the border from Citrus Heights.
The bakery, operated by 20-year-old baker Haven Claycomb and his family, celebrated a grand reopening on Saturday, April 4, to a crowd of people snaking out the front door just after 10 a.m.
The shop’s last day in Citrus Heights was on Saturday, March 28, the company posted on Instagram.
The bakery’s new suite, located at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Madison Avenue next to Fire Wings in a small strip mall, has more space in the back, where Haven Claycomb’s parents say they hope to gradually build a commercial kitchen.
The front of the bakery is similar in size to the previous location, but has an additional counter and alcove where the bakery now serves coffee, made by another of the Claycomb’s sons.
While operating in Citrus Heights, the bakery utilized a commercial kitchen space to bake all of its goods and will continue to do so for the time being.
The bakery operated in the Marketplace at Birdcage on a corner across from HomeGoods for almost two years, the Claycombs said, but the goal was always to find another permanent spot. The company began looking for another location about two months ago, Trina Claycomb said.
According to his website, Claycomb began selling baked goods to neighbors and friends shortly before the pandemic began. Since then, Claycomb sold his desserts at local vendors’ markets while he attended school. He has a strong following on Instagram.
