A large birthday party drew an estimated 200 to 250 people to an Airbnb on Dunmore Avenue in Citrus Heights over the weekend.

Neighborhood Area 5 President Mike Hazlip witnessed dozens of young people gathering at a home on the 6700 block of Dunmore Avenue, near Brooktree Park late Saturday night.

Hazlip said many concerned neighbors called 911 due to the growing size of the crowd as dozens began filling the house and Brooktree Park.

Information shared through the Citizen app, including a 911 transcript, indicated a police drone operator reportedly observed 50 people on the roof of one home and an estimated 200 people in the backyard.

Tuesday, Citrus Heights Police confirmed that the large gathering was a birthday party held at an Airbnb property.

Due to the size of the crowd, police said they requested assistance from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, and the party was cleared out by 12 a.m.

The property owner came to the scene after the party was broken up and worked to secure the home. Neighbors believed the home had been rented through Airbnb.

On Tuesday, the property owner told The Sentinel guests used a fake elderly profile to rent the home and attempted to cover the Ring camera in the house before inviting hundreds of people over.

The property owner also said there was a lot of trash, evidence of Marijana use and drinking, plus damage to his furniture, and damage to his roof, which he is having assessed this week.

Police did not say whether arrests were made.
