The Citrus Heights Homeless Assistance Resource team (HART) is celebrating its 10th anniversary during its annual Spaghetti Fest fundraiser slated for on Friday, Oct. 23.
The event will be held at the Citrus Heights Event Center, located at 6300 Fountain Square Drive, with doors opening at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Spaghetti Fest is HART’s largest fundraiser of the year, organizers say, and proceeds support the organization’s efforts to prevent and end homelessness in Citrus Heights, including its annual Winter Sanctuary program, Rental Assistance Program, Student Support and Navigator Support programs.
“This event is a crucial fundraiser that helps us provide essential services to at-risk individuals and families in our community,” organizers say.
The evening will include live music, raffle prizes and a silent auction. Dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad and garlic bread. A cash-only bar will also be available with beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
Early bird tickets are priced at $30 through Sept. 13. General admission tickets will be $35 beginning Sept. 14. through Oct. 11. Attendees can also reserve tables for groups of eight, nine or 10 guests.
Citrus Heights HART is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing and preventing homelessness in the City of Citrus Heights “through compassionate, coordinated, and community-driven solutions,” the nonprofits bio states. The team’s mission is to both provide immediate relief and create sustainable pathways to stable housing and self-sufficiency for families and individuals who are at risk of experiencing homelessness.
The Rental Assistance Program provides emergency rental and utility assistance, resource navigation, and connections to essential supports including food access, healthcare, employment services, and public benefits enrollment.
The Winter Sanctuary program offers safe and dignified overnight shelter, hot meals, shower facilities, to-go breakfasts, and access to a Community Health Worker during the coldest months of the winter each year.
Year-round services include Monday Respite, which provides meals, showers, and on-site support; a weekly community meal at Celtic Cross; and student and family support programs that supply clothing and other basic necessities to households experiencing housing insecurity.
Ticket sales for the annual Spaghetti Feed will close Oct. 11.
