The Citrus Heights City Council is scheduled to hold a special council meeting this upcoming week involving an appeal hearing regarding an Order of Abatement issued for a large corner property at 7398 Antelope Rd.
The agenda packet includes only a brief title of the hearing, stating: “Appeal of Notice of Hearing Decision & Order of Abatement for 7398 Antelope Road.” No further information is included in the city’s agenda packet, however, such a hearing before the City Council generally means the party who is appealing is asking the council to review a previous order to abate.
The corner lot, located on Antelope Road near Lauppe Lane, has long been known to store numerous vehicles visible to passersby, based on both Google aerial photos and Sentinel staff observation. Google images dated from March 2025 show multiple vehicles stored on the property including trailers, pickup trucks, sedans and boats. A chain link fence surrounded the perimeter of the property.
In more recent months, a larger green fence has been constructed further in the interior of the property, and most vehicles appear to have been moved behind the fencing.
Sacramento County records show the 1.7-acre property has one home and another detached garage structure. The home was constructed in 1950, records state.
In April of this year, the city told The Sentinel that Code Enforcement had received complaints regarding the property in the past.
“Staff have identified code violations and issued notices to the property owner to correct them,” the city said in April, adding that Code Enforcement has been monitoring the property and work with the property owner to gain compliance.
Code Enforcement generally re-inspects the Antelope Road property one to two times per month, the city said.
A similar incident took place in May 2025 when another local property owner known for storing dozens of vehicles on his large property located on Old Auburn Road who owed thousands of dollars in violation fines also appealed the order to abate and remove unlawfully stored vehicles of all types. The City Council ultimately voted to reject the property owner’s request.
The meeting will be held at City Hall at 5 p.m. on Aug. 26, just prior to the regular council meeting at 6 p.m. Those wishing to make a public comment during the meeting can do so by attending the council meeting on Aug. 26, 2026, at City Hall or by submitting a written comment beforehand using the city’s website.
Written comments are no longer being read out loud following amendments to the city council’s handbook, but will be included in City Council agenda packets. The deadline to submit comments online is 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
