A deceased male adult was discovered at Rusch Community Park earlier Thursday afternoon, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.
Around 4 p.m. police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to reports of the discovery of a male adult on a bench on the western side of the park near the Historic Rusch Home and Gardens. The male was unmoving, would not wake up and was suspected to be deceased. Upon arrival, Sacramento Metro Fire District medics pronounced the male was dead.
A Citrus Heights Police spokesperson said Thursday evening that no evidence at the scene or on the person’s body indicates any foul play. The department did not immediately know whether the man was unhoused. The incident is still under investigation. The deceased man was estimated to be in his 30s or 40s, police say.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has taken possession of the body and will release information according to their policies.
