Grass fires behind Costco continue, even after arson arrests

Fire crews were dispatched yet again to the field areas behind Costco and Walmart in Citrus Heights on Wednesday, responding to a grass and brush fire that was later determined by officials to have been "intentionally set." Citrus Heights Police Dept celebrates 10-year anniversary

Calling it a "decade of difference," the Citrus Heights Police Department (CHPD) celebrated its 10th birthday during a public ceremony at the Community Center this week. The Department officially went live 10 years ago on June 26, 2006, replacing the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department in providing police services to Citrus Heights. Citrus Heights police said they are searching for a driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian that occurred at the intersection of Greenback Lane and Birdcage Street on Sunday.
