By Mike Hazlip– Citrus Heights police confirmed this week that a suspect who allegedly broke into Pastor’s Valero convenience store last month was arrested, after a distinctive “Monopoly” shirt the suspect wore led to him being identified.

Following a deadly shooting in a residential neighborhood near Sylvan Corners on Monday, Citrus Heights police are now investigating another shooting that occurred just two days afterward in another part of the city.

Additional patrol officers will be on the streets of Citrus Heights over Super Bowl weekend to target drivers showing signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Citrus Heights Police Department said Thursday that an investigation into a fatal shooting in a residential neighborhood is still ongoing.

Sirens and sounds of a helicopter could be heard near Sylvan Corners on Monday evening as police responded to a shooting in the area.
