Citrus Heights police announced the search for a missing 61-year-old late Saturday night, after the man left his care facility.
In a news release, police said Mark Mayes left a care facility in the area of Canelo Hills Drive and Oak Avenue around 9 p.m. on Saturday. He is believed to be on foot and was last seen wearing a blue shirt with the words, “my favorite people call me dad” on the front and gray sweat pants.
Police described Mayes as a white male adult, approximately 6-foot-tall, weighing about 220 pounds. Authorities said he “needs medication and may be greatly disoriented.”
Update: Citrus Height police announced early Sunday morning that Mayes was located and safely returned to his care facility.
