Citrus Heights police said in an update email early Sunday morning that a missing 61-year-old had been safely located and returned to his care facility.
In a news release, police said Mark Mayes had left a care facility in the area of Canelo Hills Drive and Oak Avenue around 9 p.m. on Saturday. He was believed to be on foot and had last been seen wearing a blue shirt with the words, “my favorite people call me dad” on the front and gray sweat pants.
Police had advised the public that Mayes “needs medication and may be greatly disoriented.”U
