By Mike Hazlip—
A new chicken fingers drive-thru is quickly taking shape in the parking lot of Hobby Lobby on Greenback Lane.

As of last week, plywood could be seen over the new wood framing, along with weather proofing material beginning to be installed.

The drive-thru will be the first Raising Cane’s in the area, and will be over 3,000-square-feet, with 48 seats inside and 23 seats on a patio.

The interior design will feature wall graphics that reflect the history of the restaurant chain as well as local highlights from Citrus Heights, according to company spokesman Russell Ford.

Ford said the restaurant will feature Raising Cane’s “latest operating systems in both the kitchen and the external multi-lane drive-thru,” which he said will make the location one of the fastest drive-thru restaurants in the area.

The new restaurant is slated to open this year, with a December opening date being most likely, according to Ford.

Raising Cane’s is a Louisiana-based restaurant chain known for their limited menu and appeal to college-age demographics, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. Popular items are chicken fingers, Texas toast and cole slaw.
