By Mike Hazlip— Police said in a social media post on Thursday that two suspects were arrested after a search warrant was served at a Citrus Heights home last week.

By Mike Hazlip– Incidents involving shots fired in Citrus Heights are on the rise in 2021. The Sentinel has created a new interactive map to show readers and others interested where the shootings have occurred.

Shootings deemed “intentional” by police are shown in red, fatal shootings in black, and other incidents involving the discharge of a firearm are shown in yellow.

A list of all firearms incidents is included below:

Jan. 15th– Roommate argument. One round fired, no one injured. Suspect arrested.

Feb. 1st– A man called police and said he shot someone in his driveway on Gallant Circle. The deceased man’s mother told a news station that her son had been visiting friends, but was unsure of what led to the shooting.

Feb. 2nd– Vehicle struck by gunfire on Antelope Road. Two occupants were hit and later stopped on I-80/Watt for medical assistance.

Feb. 14th– Apartment resident shot in leg during apparent marijuana robbery. Suspect arrested.

April 16th– Suspect shot victim on patio at La Fiesta Taqueria. Suspect arrested.

May 1st– Report of gunfire on Kingswood Drive. Officers located shell casings in the roadway, but no known victims.

May 8 and May 16– Two incidents were related to a local night club on the 7400 block of Auburn Boulevard. Both shootings believed to be gang related. Suspects have been arrested in both shootings.

June 23rd– Incident involved a subject firing a weapon at a family member and barricading themselves in a house on Heritage Meadow Lane. Police said SWAT and CNT were able to de-escalate the situation and take the subject into custody.

Aug. 26th– Incident on Carmelwood Drive involved two subjects with firearms who were known to each other. One man was fatally shot. Investigation is on-going.

Aug. 8th (7600 block of Auburn Blvd), Sept. 23 (7000 block of Dolan Way) and Sept. 28 (6700 block of Bix). Three incidents which police believe to be “related to road rage or driving incidents,” involving firing from a vehicle into the air or at an unoccupied vehicle. Police said no one was injured during any of the incidents and do not believe the incidents to be related to one another.

Sept. 25 — Incident at 12801 Fair Oaks Boulevard involving a man who was shot and killed while in a vehicle at the Montage Apartments. Initial investigation indicates that the two parties were known to one another. Investigation is on-going.

Sept. 29th– Incident on the 7000 block of Glass slipper Way involving a reportedly suicidal subject who fired a round inside his home while an elderly family member was inside. SWAT and a Crisis Negotiations Team responded and were able to take the subject into custody.

Oct. 18th– A clerk at the 7-Eleven store at Auburn Boulevard and Greenback Lane was shot and injured by a suspect, following a confrontation of some sort. An investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 22 — police responded to a report of three gunshots near Calvary Cemetery. Officers found two shell casings at the scene, and no victims were found. There were no reported injuries.

Oct. 30 — Officers responded to the Atwood Apartments after receiving reports of shots fired. Officers found multiple bullet casings and apparent bullet holes in an apartment complex dumpster. No victims were found and no injuries were reported.

Nov. 24 — officers investigated a report of an unknown suspect who shot a parked vehicle on Mariposa Avenue.

Dec. 4 — Police responded to 6325 San Pablo Drive after receiving reports of a shooting. Police said there were two victims, but no injuries. The suspect has been identified, and was known to both victims.
