Local veteran’s missing service dog found
CBS Sacramento reported Friday that a Citrus Heights veteran’s service dog was found after it went missing following a vehicle collision four day earlier. The veteran said his service dog, Jasmine, helps with his PTSD and anxiety. (See CBS story)
City moves forward with new manager selection process
The City Council met for a special closed session on Tuesday to discuss an item related to the selection of a new city manager to replace the current interim manager, Christopher Boyd. An agenda posted on the city’s website provided a brief, five-word description of the meeting topic, saying only “PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT” and “Title: City Manager.” Asked about the selection process, City Councilman Bret Daniels told The Sentinel “The only thing I can share is that we are finalizing the process and it should be complete within the next two weeks.”
San Juan USD to revise election maps, again
The San Juan Unified School District is slated to release new draft maps for its trustee areas on Tuesday, December 7. According to a post on the district’s website, the maps are being revised due to 2020 Census data showing demographic changes in the district. The District recently approved maps creating seven trustee areas for elections, but did so just prior to new Census data being available. (See more)

The annual California International Marathon will again pass through Citrus Heights on Sunday, causing various street closures on the morning of December 5. (See full map, with closures and times listed)
