Obituary: Kaylyn Gardner (1956-2021)
Kaylyn Gardner, an area restaurant owner and Citrus Heights resident, passed away on Dec. 12 at the age of 65. According ton an obituary published Friday in The Sacramento Bee, Gardner was a businesswoman who owned the Granite Rock Grill in Rocklin and the Gold Miner Cafe in Folsom. She enjoyed traveling and loved flowers, and leaves behind four children and a longtime partner. (See full obituary)
Citrus Heights teen organizes toy giveaway
Ronald Carmon was featured in an ABC 10 story on Friday as the teen and his family helped give away more than 3,000 toys on Christmas Eve to families in need. Carmon said he helped collect the toys over a period of several months, and said “it makes me happy that I can help others, because I done been in that situation before too.” (See video)
House fire investigated in Citrus Heights
A fire at a home on Cheshire Way near Greenback Lane is under investigation, after firefighters extinguished the blaze early Tuesday morning. CBS 13 reported the home appeared to have had most of the items moved out, and investigators were trying to find out if the fire had been intentionally set. A subsequent update on Metro Fire’s Twitter page said the fire had originated “near the water heater in the garage.” (See CBS 13 report)
