After six months of closure for major remodeling, the Wendy’s restaurant location at 6435 Antelope Rd. has reopened with a new look to reflect the company’s high-tech restaurant design.
Wendy’s Manager Liza Carracedo told The Sentinel the location opened to customers on Tuesday, April 26. She said kitchen and ordering systems use the latest technology to streamline customer service.
The interior uses a light color palette with neutrals and grays. Digital menu boards greet customers, and Carracedo says the two soda machines offer 360 different flavors of Coke products.
Carracedo says customer reaction has been positive with longtime regulars.
“The old customers came back,” she said, adding they tell her: “Wow, this is awesome,” when they see the new technology.
The restaurant is still waiting on some planned additions like a digital kiosk where customers can order and pay without going to the counter. The restaurant also plans to add Apple Pay, to a growing list of electronic forms of payment new to the location.
Wendy’s corporation announced what it calls a new smart family of designs in an April 2018 press release. The new designs are built to be energy efficient using LED lighting and high efficiency HVAC systems, according to the release.
