Family identifies man killed in shooting
KCRA reported Wednesday that one of the men killed in Monday’s shootout on Birdcage Lane has been identified by family as Jacob Lopez. The 20-year-old reportedly was trying to make a name for himself in the music industry. No other details have been released by police. (See KCRA story)
City manager unveils four-part plan to improve Citrus Heights
During a council meeting on Thursday the city manager announced a two-year plan to focus on community image, infrastructure, economic development, and community connection. Council members responded with praise for the new manager, saying the city is on a new path to improvement. The Sentinel will be covering more details on the plan next week.
Obituary: Charles John Engvall (1928-2022)
Longtime resident Charles Engvall passes away last month at the age of 94. His wife of 71 years, Joy, passed away two weeks after, according to his obituary. Engvall was born in Roseville and later served in the Air Force and also as an elementary school teacher for 32 years. As a 60-year resident of Citrus Heights, Engvall and his wife were active in volunteering with the city. He leaves behind three children and five grandchildren. (See full obituary)
