Driver sought in fatal motorcycle collision
Authorities are seeking the driver of a 2005 or 2006 Toyota Camry who may have witnessed a fatal crash on June 10 involving a motorcyclist on Interstate 80 near the Antelope Road exit earlier this month, CBS 13 reported. The vehicle is described as being “pink or purple” in color, with a sunroof and aftermarket, white rims. (See CBS story)
New Lathrop Police Dept. to go live, following CHPD example
The City of Lathrop is slated to have its own police force go live next week, with its police chief having served with the Citrus Heights Police Department when it first went live more than 15 years ago, KCRA reported Friday. (See video)
Citrus Heights announces new administrative services director
The city manager announced during Thursday’s council meeting that Interim Administrative Services Director Bill Zenoni has been officially replaced by Susan Talwar as a permanent hire for the position. Talwar previously served as director of finance and administrative services with the Citrus Heights Water District. Her new position oversees the city’s finance, human resources and information technology divisions.
Obituary: Frank D. Rienti, Jr. (1953-2022)
Citrus Heights resident Frank Rienti, Jr., passed away May 26 at the age of 68 while battling cancer, according to an obituary published last week in The Sacramento Bee. Rienti was born in Sacramento and graduated from Mira Loma High School. He started off his career with a bike route delivering newspapers and later worked at McClellan Air Force Base in defense logistics where he became a union activist. He is remembered for his “generous spirit, sense of humor, and dedication to his family,” and leaves behind his wife, two children and several grandsons. (See obituary)
