Obituary: Ralph Blanco Sr. (1943-2022)
Citrus Heights resident Ralph Blanco passed away on Aug. 9 at the age of 79 after battling cancer, according to an obituary published Friday in The Sacramento Bee. A lifetime resident of Sacramento County, Blanco graduated Norte del Rio High School in 1962 and later worked at Southern Pacific Railroad, as well as enlisting in the U.S. Army. He later worked for 25 years with the Los Rios Community College District, serving in the maintenance, parts and custodial division until retiring in 2010. He loved being with family and enjoyed camping and repairing clocks. He leaves behind his two sons and eight grandchildren. (See full obituary)
Police respond to vehicle collision near Celtic Cross Church
Police and paramedics on Saturday responded to a collision in front of Celtic Cross Church involving a Toyota Prius that ended up on its side. The incident occurred just before 3 p.m., and a Sentinel reporter observed the car on its side between a streetlight post and a tree, located on the southbound side of Dewey Drive. A witness at the scene said an ambulance had also responded, but it was not clear whether additional vehicles were involved, or if there were any injuries.
Missing Citrus Heights man found after police alert
The Citrus Heights Police Department said Tuesday that a missing man had been found, roughly three hours after police sent out a community alert to help locate the man. The missing man had last been seen near Auburn Boulevard and Linden Avenue on foot, and was later found “safe and sound,” police said in a social media post. (See post)
