Where would the tax money go on cannabis sales?
I’ve sat back and read the responses for and against having shops/stores that sell weed here within our city limits. Before I take a side and make a decision I’d like to know what the city plans to do with the taxes collected. Maybe they’ve already allocated the money for something, or maybe it goes into the General Fund. Without me knowing where the tax dollars go, or who benefits from the sale of this (besides the owners and growers), to me there’s too many shady characters involved in either putting this together or coming into our city to purchase! Please don’t be offended if you feel stereotyped by my feeling this way. If I were to accept the plan, there’d have to be restrictions. I like the idea of only four stores. I also like the idea of keeping the stores in some type of industrial complex, and with limited hours (say, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.).
And, let’s do a lottery for the possibility of opening a store, with restrictions on the winners as to what’s expected and so they can’t, let’s say, win the lottery and sell out without certain restrictions and guidelines… One more thing, keep these stores within a mile or so from the city borders on all sides. Let’s cater to the cities of Roseville, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, and Sacramento. Only one of these cities has a cannabis shop.

What does the police chief think of cannabis stores?
I have heard pros and cons regarding the opening of stores to sell drugs, and it is all about money. I haven’t heard anything from our Chief of Police as to what he would like to see. Is he in favor of it, or against it? I also agree since none of the cities around us have them, will it create a element of all the surrounding areas coming here for drugs?
