*Editor’s note: This letter is in response to Sue Frost’s March 23 guest column, titled: What Citrus Heights residents should know about the real impact of going green
By Laura Belcher, Citrus Heights–
I like to preface this response by saying that I’ve never been a fan of Sue Frost and her opinions or policies. However on the matter of going green, I absolutely agree with every word she wrote. This includes: The horrible increase in plastic waste since plastic bags were banned. The reusable bags are not conducive to being reused and therefore are discarded. There was a very convincing argument to propel people to vote this into law (myself included).
How can we be required to buy only EV vehicles when we have limited infrastructure to charge and support them. Another overreach by “big brother.” Our electric grid is already overloaded and “big brother” wants to stress it further by mandating what appliances we may use. I really feel that just plain common sense needs to be practiced in decision making and a lot of forward thinking as well.
“Just say’n.”
