Local activities and events in September include a multicultural career expo, community meetings with state officials, a Bubble Bash, Battle of the Bands and the annual Sunday Funday.
Multicultural Business and Career Fair Expo: Citrus Heights is the host city for a multicultural business and career expo that is to be held at the Citrus Heights Community Center on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free. The Community Center is located at 6300 Fountain Square Drive.
Community meeting: A community meeting with State Senator Roger Niello and State Assemblyman Josh Hoover will be held on Monday evening, Sept. 9, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Citrus Heights City Hall. City Hall is located at 6360 Fountain Square Drive.
Bubble Bash: Sunrise Marketplace and Marketplace at Birdcage are hosting a Bubble Bash on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place in the Marketplace at Birdcage behind Jamba Juice and will include bubble-making stations, a bubble performance with bubble tricks, and bubble related games and crafts. The event is free to attend, but organizers are asking guests to RSVP. Anyone interested can visit the event page on Facebook for more information and registration. The Marketplace at Birdcage is located at 5975 Birdcage Centre Ln.
Battle of the Bands: The American Legion Post 637 is hosting a Battle of the Bands on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event takes place at the Historic Rusch Home, with proceeds benefiting local veterans in need.
Tickets are $30 and include barbecue competitors, dessert, beer and wine, and live music. Three bands will compete for first place. Kids 12 and under are free and will be provided hot dogs, snow cones, and family friendly activities. Visit the American Legion Post’s Facebook event page for more information. Sunday Funday: Festivities are planned for Sunday, Sept. 22, at Rusch Community Park and will feature vendors, food trucks, and activities for the whole family. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public. Visit the park’s event page for more details.
Concert: Foundation Christian Church is hosting a concert with Christian recording artist Ryan Stevenson on Monday, Sept. 30. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. For ticket information and more details visit the concert’s event page. Foundation Christian Church is located at 7800 Wonder St.
