A 27-year-old man is behind bars without bail after being arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred over the weekend near one of Citrus Heights’ busiest intersections.
According to a social media update from the Citrus Heights Police Department, detectives began investigating a stabbing in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 17, after a verbal altercation escalated near the intersection of Greenback Lane and Auburn Boulevard. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Authorities say the victim is expected to survive.
Through investigative efforts, the General Investigations and Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) units identified the suspect as Austin Carson, a 27-year-old transient male on probation. A warrant for attempted murder was issued, and Carson was arrested on charges of attempted murder on Wednesday, May 21, law enforcement said. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. Records show Carson remains in custody and is currently being held without bail.
