Upcoming roadwork to begin on Oakwood Hills Circle in March

By Sara Beth Williams–
The city of Citrus Heights is preparing to begin roadwork at both the east and west intersections of Oakwood Hills Circle and Old Auburn Road.

Work is expected to begin within the next few weeks, weather permitting.

Planned upgrades focus primarily on adding and refreshing pavement markings and curb striping.

At both the east and west intersections, crews will install new standard crosswalks across Oakwood Hills Circle and relocate limit lines approaching Old Auburn Road. Officials said the changes are intended to better define pedestrian crossings and improve vehicle stopping positions.

Additional striping improvements include adding 25 feet of double yellow centerline on Oakwood Hills Circle at both intersections.

At the east intersection, 20 feet of red curb will be added on Oakwood Hills Circle as it approaches Old Auburn Road to address California’s Daylighting Law, which restricts parking near intersections to improve sightlines for drivers and pedestrians.

The city will also relocate and install new “STOP” pavement legends on Oakwood Hills Circle at both intersections and refresh the existing “25” speed pavement marking at the east intersection.

During construction, temporary “No Parking” signage may be posted to allow crews adequate space to complete the striping safely. Short-duration lane shifts may also occur, though officials emphasized that access for residents will be maintained at all times.
