A new two-story trampoline adventure park in Citrus Heights had to postpone its grand opening plans last week due to significant vandalism to their electrical system, according to police and owners of the building next door.
FunCity Trampoline Park on Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights was completing last minute interior work and ordering of equipment in preparation for its opening last week when newly-hired employees discovered on Monday that the electricity in the building wasn’t working.
FunCity ownership and management were not able to be reached for comment, but a sign on the front entrance confirmed the building’s electrical service box was vandalized, delaying the company’s opening. The vandalism caused “significant damage and a complete power outage” the company said, adding that repairs are underway, and power was expected to be restored this coming week.
Citrus Heights Police confirmed Friday that copper wiring was stolen, and said that the information was still under investigation. Police were not able to confirm what day the incident occurred.
Police said camera footage was available and is being examined. No information was available regarding the number of suspects or the amount in estimated damage.
According to the owner of the suites directly adjacent to FunCity, hundreds of thousands of dollars in copper wiring was stolen. The owner suspects that thieves cut the lock securing a chain link fence and stole the wiring in the middle of the night over last weekend.
A minor use permit was approved for the new trampoline adventure park in the beginning of April 2025, city officials said, and construction has been ongoing since.
The park will cater to families and groups for birthday party bookings and more. A website is not yet active for the Citrus Heights location, but other FunCity locations open on the east coast show 60-, 90-, 120-and 3-hour free jump timeslots for purchase, along with specialty free jump events, such as ‘Glow Night’ and “Homeschool Day” events with discounted prices.
The new adventure trampoline park is located at 8525 Auburn Blvd., in the building that formerly housed Big Lots. Hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m., Friday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.n. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The adventure park also plans to be open on Holidays and any non-school days at 10 a.m.
