Despite “coming soon” signage, a donut shop in the Grand Oaks shopping center on Auburn Boulevard has yet to open.

In spite of the colorful signage in its front windows, and previously active social media accounts in 2025, Far-Out Dough, located in a small storefront on Auburn Boulevard near the Dollar General and Mary’s thrift store has remained vacant for at least a year.

According to an official sign posted on its storefront, the shop was issued a permit of occupancy on Sept 23. 2025, but the business does not appear to have occupied the space. According to neighboring businesses, there has been no activity at the location for months on end.

Online documents filed with the California Secretary of State indicate that the company filed to become an LLC in 2024, and renewed in May of 2026. The business is shown to be in good standing with an active status.

The company, which labels itself as a specialty donut shop, established a social media presence through a Facebook and Instagram page listing its menu offerings, including specialty donuts, gourmet coffee, and breakfast bites.

A website associated with the company appears to still be operational. The shop appears to have a “cosmic” space theme, evident throughout its social media posts, website layout and menu items. An online store attached to the website appears incomplete, with a list of menu items and prices, but no photos of menu items.

The last post on the company’s Facebook page was dated July 17, 2025, and Instagram indicates the last post was made 60 weeks ago.

The donut shop is registered underneath two LLCs, Legacy AllianceX LLC and Intercessor Ventures LLC. both listing the same address of 1401 21st St. site R, in Sacramento. No other contact information for an owner of the business was available.

The small bakery suite is located in the Grand Oaks Shopping Center, which has 12,000 square feet of retail space available. Altogether, the shopping center is comprised of several large parcels.

Bearpaw Equities has historically owned a majority of the Grand Oaks Shopping Center, although the Auburn Boulevard center is divided among multiple properties and ownership interests.

An email sent to the bakery’s contact email listed on the company’s website failed to be delivered to the sender.
