A new shoe warehouse is now open in the space formerly housing Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse in the Marketplace at Birdcage in Citrus Heights.
Designer Shoe Warehouse opened its doors officially on Thursday, June 25, and celebrated their grand opening on Saturday, June 27 with giveaways and a live DJ.
Management said that business since June 25 had been going great and that the community had “been very welcoming.”
On Saturday, the shoe store welcomed new customers with a free tote bag, and each customer had the chance to spin a wheel and receive prizes like gift cards. A caricature artist was also set up inside the front doors drawing caricatures of any customer who was interested.
Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, once located in the high-traffic corner suite at the Marketplace at Birdcage, permanently closed after 20 years in business.
A visit to the shopping center in January found the entrance to the shoe store taped off, with two large shipping containers out front. The inside of the store appeared vacant and cleared out of merchandise, with multiple piles of boxes seen on the inside of the empty store. The signature black, white and red lettering had also been removed from the store’s facade.
