An early morning grass fire sparked at C-Bar-C park, prompting an emergency response from fire and law enforcement personnel.
Citrus Heights Police said officers were dispatched to C-Bar-C park around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, to reports of a grass fire. The fire was located on the back side of the park near the multiuse trail, and began in the vicinity of some trees, police said Tuesday afternoon.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, which police said was estimated to be about 20 feet by 20 feet in size.
There were no obvious signs of arson, and the cause is not yet known. Police say Sacramento Metro Fire District officials are still investigating the cause.
