The City of Citrus Heights has announced the featured musical acts for its returning Citrus Nights concert series, with local R&B band Mercy Me set to headline the first event later this month.
The city’s Citrus Nights series returns for two evenings this fall at Van Maren Park, offering free community events featuring live music, food trucks and family-friendly activities.
The first event will take place Friday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Van Maren Park, located at 6601 Thalia Way.
Newly announced by the city, the August event will feature a performance by local R&B band Mercy Me, along with a beer and wine garden hosted by the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of live entertainment.
Several food vendors are also scheduled to attend, including The Fry Boys, Dubbs Lunch Boxx, Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen, The Mini Donut Shack, SanTacos, Crumble Cookies and Tucker’s Kettle Corn.
The city also confirmed details for the second Citrus Nights event, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the same location.
That event will feature live music from Moonshine Crazy, along with the return of the Chamber of Commerce’s beer and wine garden. In addition to food and entertainment, the September event will include a limited number of election information booths intended to provide information for residents ahead of the November City Council election.
The Citrus Nights series debuted last year as a new community event aimed at bringing residents together through live music outdoors and local food vendors. City officials announced earlier this summer that the popular event would return for two nights this fall.
Van Maren Park is located at 6601 Thalia Way in Citrus Heights. Both events are free and open to the public.
