Solo-vehicle collision in Citrus Heights leaves retaining wall damage

By Sara Beth Williams–
A solo vehicle collision occurred on Antelope Road near Saybrook Drive Wednesday evening, damaging a wall and sending one driver to the hospital.

The solo vehicle crash resulted in significant damage to a retaining wall within Citrus Heights as well as damage to a tree outside the city limits where the vehicle began to lose control, police say.

The wall is not yet repaired, and police estimate it may take some time due to the extent of damage. Following the collision, the city’s General Services Department was contacted to come and assess the damage to the retaining wall.

Police say based on their preliminary investigation, DUI does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but the cause of the collision is still under investigation, and nothing has been officially determined.

The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No arrests were made and no other injuries occurred.
