Two arrested during DUI Checkpoint in Citrus Heights
A Friday-night DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint in Citrus Heights was held on Antelope Road at Lauppe Lane, netting two DUI arrests — one for drugs and one for alcohol, according to a police spokeswoman. A total of 769 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with two sobriety field tests administered. Police said seven vehicles were towed and 22 citations were issued for various other violations.
Obituary: Joanne McKevitt Travers (1925-2021)
California native Joanne Travers passed away of natural causes in Citrus Heights on May 27, according to an obituary published Wednesday in The Sacramento Bee. She was born in San Francisco, married her high school sweetheart, Sumter Lee Travers, in 1946, and traveled the United States at naval stations until her husband’s retirement from the Navy. She later completed her master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University and taught special education classes until retiring in 1990. She is survived by her children and grandchildren. Citrus Heights woman killed in head-on collision
A 43-year-old woman from Citrus Heights was killed in a head-on collision in Stanislaus County last weekend, according to CBS Sacramento.
