Sylvan Cemetery will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
The cemetery, located at 7401 Auburn Blvd. in Citrus Heights, will be saluting all men and women who have served in the military since 1775, according to organizer Jim Monteton.
A march through the cemetery is planned, as well as patriotic songs presented by the Folsom Harmony Express men’s choir. The event will last about an hour.
Nov. 11 is a federal holiday, celebrating all those who have fought in the military over the past 245 years. It originated as a celebration of the end of World War 1 and differs with Memorial Day, which honors those who have fallen in battle.
