Citrus Heights Police broke up a party with an estimated 250 to 300 guests on Halloween night in a Citrus Heights neighborhood.
Hundreds of teens gathered at a single-family home on Evening Way in Citrus Heights just after 7 p.m. Saturday night, while families of trick or treaters were out in full force throughout the neighborhood.
Initially, nearby neighbors allegedly reported sighting guns on persons attending the party to police, according to police radio traffic. Officials confirmed the initial reports, and said Sunday that no weapons, including guns, were confirmed to be at the party.
Officers arrived to break up the party around 8 p.m. Citrus Heights Police said Sunday. Witnesses reported at least one helicopter in the air. Law enforcement officers issued commands for guests of the house party to get in their car and leave the area.
The guests were dispersed without incident. Officers were on scene for about 40 minutes ensuring all guests left the party, police said.
Radio traffic indicated that a law enforcement helicopter overhead reported between 250 to 300 people at the home, with more cars of guests continuing to arrive. The backyard appeared full of people, and dozens more were seen in the front yard, spilling into and blocking the street.
Neighbors reported multiple cars driving in reckless manners down the main street and smaller streets of the neighborhood. Multiple parked cars lined the streets, with many parked in front of driveways.
No arrests were made, and no incidents were reported as party goers left the area.
