Sentinel staff report–
The city said in a social media update Wednesday that its 2022 Residential Street Resurfacing project will begin this month.
The Citrus Heights City Council approved a $2.9 million contract with All Phase Construction in July for repaving portions of deteriorating streets in various neighborhoods. The city previously released a draft list of 19 streets to be repaved, but said in a July 28 update that the list is “subject to change.”
Three streets previously included in a July city staff report now no longer appear on the city’s website: Kersten Street, Paco Court, and Sprig Oak Court. One additional street section has been added to the list on Auburn Boulevard.
Below is the most recent list, as updated on the city’s website July 28, 2022:
- Auburn Blvd (Storm Drain at Development)
- Begonia Court (From Shadycrest Way to End)
- Beta Court (From Summerplace Dr to End)
- Gobi Court (From Summerplace Dr to End)
- Ketch Court (From Birchglade to End)
- Mel Court (From Rinconada Drive to End)
- Noreen Way (From Grenola Way to Baranga Drive)
- North Colony Way (Holly Drive to End)
- Regli Woods Court (From Whyte Ave to End)
- Ridgeview Court (From Parkview Way to End)
- Rigging Court (From Birchglade to End)
- Shady Springs Way (From Sunmist Way to Sunburst Way)
- Shadycrest Way (From Sandalwood Dr to End)
- Sloop Court (From Birchglade to End)
- Whaler Court (From Windjammer Way to End)
- Verbena Court (From Florabella Ave to End)
- Wachtel (From Kenneth Drive to Old Auburn)
The repaving project will also include installation of curb ramps where needed to comply with ADA requirements, as well as various concrete and drainage repairs.
A staff report last month said streets were selected “due to the level of deterioration in the existing pavement,” as ranked by a computerized pavement management system and staff inspections of the streets.
Funding for the project comes from the city’s Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account, as well as gas tax funds, federal Community Development Block Grant funds, and Stormwater Utility funds. Sacramento County will also contribute funding for a portion of Wachtel Way which borders the county.
