Sentinel staff report–
The City of Citrus Heights is kicking off the new year with plans for a community workshop next month to help boost community engagement.
A post on the city’s website says registration will open on Jan. 5, with the event to be held Feb. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall. Space is limited to 50 attendees.
The workshop was first hinted at by the city during then-mayor Tim Schaefer’s State of the City address in October last year, when he said a new “Neighborhood Engagement Network” had been created, designed to unify community engagement programs and provide a platform for residents to connect, be heard, and collaborate for positive change.
Workshop attendees will participate in “community asset mapping,” along with networking with neighbors and helping develop a “community project work plan,” according to the city’s website. Lunch and a swag bag will also be offered to attendees.
A registration link will be posted at citrusheights.net, on Jan. 5, 2024.
