A vehicle clipped the corner of one house, and then crashed through the wall of another house early Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews said in a press release that crews arrived to a residence on Summerplace Drive Friday, March 6, to find a vehicle had crashed into the side of a home. The driver “experienced a medical issue prior to the collision,” officials said in a press release.
Citrus Heights Police were also on scene, dispatched at around 2:20 p.m. Law enforcement said after investigation, they determined that the vehicle clipped the corner of one home before crashing through the side wall of another adjacent home, where the garage was housed.
Medical personnel evaluated the driver while on scene. The patient was treated and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
“Due to the circumstances, a DUI investigation is under way,” Sgt. Dave Neher with the Citrus Heights Police Department said Friday, adding that lab results are pending and will not be immediately available. No one was arrested, police said.
Authorities said no injuries were reported from all parties and that a building inspector was dispatched to examine the livability of the structure before residents could reenter.
